Leo's Gallery Deli is located right on the main square in downtown Westfield, MA, and they've been a family owned and operated restaurant since 1992. Leo's serves breakfast and lunch with basic eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, and breakfast sandwiches, and so on to get your morning started, and then homemade soups, fresh sandwiches, salads, and daily specials for lunch.
The lunch menu has all sorts of deli sandwich baskets served with lettuce, tomato, chips and a pickle slice on your choice of breads for about $6. They also have specialty deli sandwiches including grilled veggies in a pita pocket, tuna melts, French dips, and a kicked-up Reuben. They have a big deli counter of freshly-made deli salads, green salads, fruit salads, and homemade soups by the cup or bowl. Leo's also has daily favorites and blue plate specials, and today's choices were:
* French Onion Soup or Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
* Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast Sandwich
* Blue Plate Special - Shepard's Pie
I had a hot pastrami sandwich on rye with a side of fresh fruit salad and an iced tea, and was out the door for under $10, plus tip. Delicious deli food in a very convenient location!
Breakfast is served from 8 - 10:30 Mon - Fri, and 7 - 11:30 on Saturdays. Lunch is available till 4pm on Monday - Friday and until 2pm on Saturdays. Like a lot of smaller Mom-n-Pop restaurants in New England, they are closed on Sundays. Because of their location, Leo's is an easy walk (or car ride during the colder months) from most offices in downtown Westfield. -

I would suggest skipping this place.
THE AMBIANCE: Though it's dark, you can still make out (between the spider webs) a layer of dust on the plastic leaves of the fake plants throughout the dining room. Packing tape covers the torn seat cushions and loose tabletop veneers.
THE FOOD: I'm sure the cook was a teenage kid. Greasy eggs, slightly burned toast, microwaved Jimmy Dean sausage.
THE BILL: A little cheap, but not cheap enough. -

Passing through this town....all I wanted was a sausage, egg and cheese. I ordered one and was asked "what would you like it on?" I said "a hard roll". That will be $5.19 please. WHAT???? Where does anyone get off charging $5.19 for an egg sandwich? I buy egg sandwiches all over the northeast and even in midtown Manhattan the price is $3.50 at best. Are the eggs being imported from Venice, Italy to little ole Westfield Ma? Now for the kicker!?! I open the bag in the car and the sandwich is on a stop and shop hamburger bun with microwaved jimmy dean sausages. How can you EFF up and simple egg sandwich and have the balls to charge $5.19 and look at me like I have 3 heads when I question the price? Everyone do themselves a favor and don't get bent over at this place. I cringe at even saying this, but Dunkin Donuts probably makes a better egg sandwich.

First I would like to mention that I've lived in the vicinity of Westfield for over 20 years and just started going here this year. Since my first visit, I've been every week, with a different friend every time. Everyone - and I mean everyone - needs to know about Leo's. It's inexpensive, and everything is homemade and incredibly fresh. Why would you subject yourself to Subway when you can come here?
I always get tuna salad. I tried it on a croissant (yum), a water roll (yum), and wheat bread (yum). So far I've heard the BLTs and Reubens are incredible, too. Every sandwich is served with potato chips. Their cole slaw is okay, kind of bland. I wouldn't order it again.
I'm telling everyone I know about this place. Reasonably priced and delicious. My only real complaint is that they're not open long enough! -

We ordered breakfast at 9:00 on a Wednesday. 45 minutes later, and we are still waiting. Ridiculous! No egg or pancake should take this long and no breakfast is good enough to warrant this wait.
